Our History in Lincoln Nebraska
Lincoln First Church opened its doors in July of 1913 under the direction of Pastor L.R. Hoff and 35 original members. The first building was located at 1018 'E' Street and ser
ved as the church home for 27 years. In 1940 a new church was constructed on the corner of 33rd and 'C' Streets. Membership at that time was 107. In 1950 the church added a youth center to help provide needed Sunday School, recreational, and social space.
In 1973, a section of property was purchased on 70th St. between South St. and Monterey Dr. and our current structure was built. In the mid 80's the property was renovated to accomodate a growing congregation.
The facility on 70th Street is still in use today and has remained a fixture to those commuting through East Lincoln.
Lincoln First Church has seen 23 pastors throughout the 94 years of operation. All of which have played an important role in the life and ministry of LFC.
